It is finally over! The 2022/2023 season of the Premier League is officially over. We've seen some crazy shit this season, lots of ups and downs, shocking results, disappointments, upsets, slipping near the end. Like this was wild man. We had moments such as Haaland destroying records here and there, Man United winning the League Cup, Arsenal actually winning games and not ending up in 4th, Newcastle ending in the Top 5! What a wild ride this has been. And Liverpool doing stuff I guess...
The way this season can be best described as is "THE WEAPONS STARTED JAMMING MID FIGHT". A lot of you surely got the joke, but I'm serious about the title. Not only that, but this season was also the first to take a short break due to the World Cup in Qatar (which Blogger blocked it because it thought that a section I had used harsh and hateful language, but in reality, I was just swearing in anger. Thanks Blogger, people didn't notice that post at all cause of your censorship.)
Before I start off my unique take on the report, I must pay my respects to the following clubs that won't be in the Premier League next season:
- Leicester
- Leeds United
- Leicester
- Leeds United
- Southampton
Leicester getting relegated was expected, but saddening, given how they won the League 7 years ago. Poor management was the cause for their downfall.
Leeds didn't live up to the expectations of their fans and themselves. And it's a shame, since they had the potential.
Southampton were a punching bag, getting ragdoll'd by everyone in the league.
On the other hand, Fulham, Brentford, Brighton and Newcastle were wonderful. 10th, 9th, 6th & 4th place respectively.
Anyway...
MANCHESTER CITY
The reigning champions of England. 7th Premier League title, 9th English title overall.
As per usual, Manchester City started their season with a bang and kept that momentum going from start to finish. At home, they didn't just win games, but humiliated their opponents with destructive results. A lot of their games had consistent results, but there were times when they went overboard.
Especially with Erling Haaland, who broke so many records this season, everyone but City fans felt like a kid that was bullied every single day by the popular, strong and smart kids.
In the end, they won the League, reached the FA Cup final and are facing Inter in the Champions League final. All in all, this season for City was like their previous ones. First from start to finish, with plenty of goals for people to watch & enjoy, or watch & cry if you were the team facing City.
Oh man. Of all the teams to make it to the Top 3, Arsenal was not one of them. Their previous season was pretty average for a top club, with them finishing in 5th. However, this season was very different for them.
From the very start, they were on a roll with plenty of wins under their belt. I cannot stress how good Arsenal played this season. That game against us where they won 3-2 is still edged into my mind of how good it was.
Tactically prepared for (almost) any situation, Arsenal's fortune hit it's peak after the World Cup, where they battled fiercely until the last breath against Manchester City to keep their title hopes alive. But as the saying goes: It's only a matter of time before the elephant falls down from the tree.
Still, 2nd place is not too bad. I was excited and scared at the same time watching "The Gunners" this season. I hope this trend carries over into the next season, not just for the Prem, but all other competitions.
MANCHESTER UNITED
My boys! My lads! My beautiful "Red Devils"! You had so much potential this season, it's unbelievable. We had the chance to actually win the league after not doing it for 10 years, but I'll take the end result of this journey. Better have this than nothing.
The start wasn't so great. We would play poor, defend nothing, create no chances and strike poorly. We lost to Brentford 4-0, which was utterly humiliating. The defeat was also a wake up call for us to start taking things seriously. And seriously, we did.
Wins, chances, goals, beautiful moments! We were striking back at our opponents with everything we had and much more. This was so good, we actually managed to win silverware: The League Cup! A 2-0 win over Newcastle United paved the way for the club to lift its first trophy since... I don't fucking know when.

And then it all went downhill from there. Downhill for our hopes of having a wonder season, but look on the bright side: Defeated Barca in the Europa League, won a cup, the FA Cup final (Hopefully we'll win it), 3rd in the league with a spot for the Champions League (ALSO RED STAR BELGRADE IS IN IT. LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOO!!!!!), and other things I forget about United at the moment.
A happy United team is always a sight to behold...
FINAL STANDINGS
The Premier League, quickly summarized by Kylerzz
AND WITH THIS, IT'S A WRAP UP FOR THE 2022/2023 SEASON OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE.
IT WAS QUITE THE JOURNEY, BUT IN THE END WE ALL CROSSED THE FINISH LINE. SOME ACHIEVED THEIR PERSONAL GOALS, SOME DIDN'T, AND SOME GOT SOMETHING ELSE.
TO CLOSE THINGS OUT, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THE FOLLOWING 2 STATEMENTS:
I. EVERTON SHOULD'VE BEEN RELEGATED FOR HOW SHIT THEY WERE THIS SEASON INSTEAD OF LEICESTER.
II. WELCOME TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE BURNELY, LUTON TOWN & SHEFFIELD UNITED.
UNTIL NEXT SEASON...
