In my last
report, I ended my final thoughts on the month by saying that the following
month will be exciting to watch. I was very much quickly proven wrong the
moment Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton all got relegated in the following
games. One by one, they bit the dust. The newly promoted sides to the Prem got
promoted back to the Championship. It’s not surprising when things like these
happen, but it is super infuriating when they all get relegated, one by one, A
MONTH BEFORE THE SEASON ENDS!!!
Another fun fact
for this season is that Arsenal managed to finish second for the 3rd
consecutive season. Unlike the previous season, this time the 2nd
place was pretty much determined when they stumbled in February and March with
too many draws. They should add a 2 and a 3 in their name, 2 because second
place, 3 because 3 years in a row. Oh and how can we forget the classic 4!? So
for the next season, this will be Arsenal’s new name… AND LOGO!!!
The last part of
the introductory part of the April report will be about the lack of images
highlighting important moments of the games. I started using these a while ago
to make the reports look a tad bit more professional, while still keeping up
with my signature half-professional; half-vulgar style of reporting. The photos
belong to the Premier League, and the videos that are hyperlinked all belong to
the teams of the Premier League (and Champions League, when writing about that.
But only the teams that win).
Without further
ado, let us see how we can close off this disappointing month.

We begin our
report with the first relegated team of the season, that team being
Southampton. These poor sods were horrible all season, and their relegation was
confirmed all the way back in God knows when because it was a long time ago.
They didn’t pull a Derby County, so that’s something. If you’re a “Saints” fan,
do whatever you want with that bit of info.
Regarding the
match, Villa pretty much controlled the match from start to finish. 25 shots,
of which 10 were on target, lots of touches and passes, and plenty of tackles
in order to get the ball and bully Southampton. The only thing the “Saints” were
good at in this match were the clearances.
Ollie Watkins is
Villa’s golden boy. That goes without saying, but John McGinn slotting it in
the (somewhat) final moments of the game was golden. Southampton were already
long gone, but the Scots’ goal was just rubbing salt in the wound.
A simple 1-0 win
was what Leicester were going for. And the match did end 1-0, for Liverpool.
“The Foxes” had one
simple job: and that is to win the game to boost their hopes in surviving the
league. A task which they failed hard.
Liverpool
actually struggled a bit to do anything. They didn’t have trouble with
Leicester’s style of play, but rather dumb luck preventing them from filling Mads
Hermansen’s net with lots of goals.
Trent
Alexander-Arnold in the end, secured victory for the reds, with a sweet volley
from inside the box in the 76th minute.
This game, as
well as the following ones Leicester had, were so bad, that Vardy announced
that he’d leave the club at the end of the season. He’s been there for 13
years, on nothing but RedBull and alcohol. And he won the League with said
mentality. He’ll be a player that the streets will never forget, and perhaps,
one of the top footballers that never truly reached their full potential. In my
eyes, he’s a legend of the sport.
But that doesn’t
change the fact Leicester were shite this season…
Look. I have to
be honest. IT WAS IPSWICH!!! There was no way 4r23nal could’ve lost it. It was
just an easy game for the “Gooners”.
Ipswich’s final
game to determine battle for survival was an impossible one. Facing a team like
4r23nal, who mind you, despite finishing second for the third time, are still
really good. Hell, they’re currently in the Champions League semis (who just
lost 1-0 at the time of posting this report).
Martinelli,
Trossard & Nwaneri just battered Ipswich. Trossard & Martinelli in the
first half made it 2-0, and then Trossard, scoring again in this one, &
Nwaneri in the second half to make the final score 4-0.
Ipswich were
just there. Existing. But now they’ll be existing back in the Championship. It
is a shame, everyone was happy that Ipswich got back in the League, as they
were a team that is fondly remembered as a Premier League side. But time has
been a cruel mistress towards them, and now they’re a Championship side once
more…
Liverpool, you
already had the title in the bag. You didn’t need to kill Spurs to show us you
won.
I’m not saying
this as a bitter Man U fan that just isn’t able to comprehend the fact that
LIVERPOOL NOW HAVE 20 PREMIER LEAGUE TITLES, EQUALLING OUR 20!!! GOD WHAT HAVE
WE DONE TO DESERVE SUCH PUNISHEMNT?
As for the
match, the first 25 minutes were quite entertaining. Dominic Solanke scored in
the 12th minute for Spurs to make it 1-0, only for Luis Diaz to
equalise 3 minutes later. With MacAlister’s goal in the 24th minute,
the game was pretty much over.
The rest was
just bullying Spurs. Every Scouse fan loved every minute of the match. I can
attest to this because my father had a grin as big as the city itself. Days
after the game ended, all them Liverpool fans are still smiling, celebrating,
cheering as they… I’ll stop here. I just can’t bear it anymore.
Still, as much as it hurts me to say it, but
CONGRATULATIONS LIVERPOOL ON BECOMING PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!!
At least Man
Shitty didn’t win it…
STANDINGS
I have no idea what I’m going to do for May. My main concept for May was to simply give a short summary of each team on how they were throughout the season. But because everything just sorted itself, I may do a normal report, unless a game that decides the fate for next year’s European competition. Another bit of trivia is that Wolves are the only team on a six-match winning run in Europe's top five leagues. Way to go, lads!
Before signing off, I
just want to dedicate this final part of the report to two of the most
legendary racing drivers in the history of motorsport and the F1, Roland
Ratzenberger & Ayrton Senna, who tragically lost their lives in 1994 during
the Imola Grand Prix. Ratzenberger died on April 30th , while Senna
would meet the same fate the following day, on May 1st.
Both drivers are
considered icons in the history of sport, and outside of it. Their deaths were
mourned by the world, as they gave life to F1 and made the sport that much
exciting.
Fly high, thunderbolts
of God. Perhaps in His Kingdom, you’re shredding on the track He has given you
to race on. Your impact on sport and history in general will never be forgotten…
