The spooky scary
month of October is reaching its end. And of course that means I’m about to
deliver to you a funky recap of the month through some notable games that
happened throughout the period. And of course with October being yet another
month of “Internationals”, there was a huge break from standard football, which
made fans upset. Strangely enough, this International break wasn’t that bad. No
injured players, decent games, and Scotland qualifying for the Euros. The
latter being noteworthy due to the team failing to reach the group stages of a
major international tournament most of the time.
But October is
also a month of great loss. English football has lost an icon. Sir Bobby
Charlton, member of the Busby Babes, an important part of the glorious English
side that lifted the World Cup in 1966, passed away peacefully on October 21,
2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Known for his great skill and leadership,
and also being the 2nd player with most goals scored for a team,
only behind Wayne Rooney, who surpassed him with a wonderful goal against Stoke
on 21 January, 2021. A great figure who also survived the horrible airplane
crash of Munich in 1958. To commemorate for his great achievements for the
club, a statue was erected to honour him and 2 other “Red Devils”: George Best
and Denis Law.
Rest in Peace,
Sir Charlton. It is a shame you went for a kick about with your mate Best
during a disastrous time for the club you once played for…
MAN UNITED VS BRENTFORD
We almost lost
to a team that has a fucking wasp as a mascot. Fucking hell we’re shit.
Mathias Jensen
with a little bit of help from Yoane Wissa managed to do a bit of tomfoolery on
an absentminded Onana, and scored in the 26th minute of the match.
Both sides had
their moments, but Brentford were the better team overall. Having more
opportunities to score, it seemed that this one was going to be a huge fat L.
But then enter
Scott McTominay, who came on as a sub in stoppage time and pulled off a
“Solskjaer”, and scored twice. First in the 93rd, then in the 97th
minute, with an assist from Harry Maguire of all people.
The only reason
this match was placed here is due to personal reasons. Those being that it
happened on the day of the death of Sir Bobby, making this win an emotional
one. And the second one is because of the comeback. Otherwise, the 0-3 defeat by the hands of City
would’ve been here…

ARSENAL
VS MANCHESTER CITY
This was perhaps
the most anticipated match of the entire month. And it did not disappoint.
They were only
separated by one goal. Thanks to Martinelli in the 86th minute,
Arsenal took home the 3 points and made City look like absolute shit in front
of millions watching the game.
On top of the
embarrassment, Arsenal were pretty much dominant for the entirety of the match.
Their attacks were always on point, their defence was always there to stop or pressure
City’s advances, and most important of all, countering them at all times.
The lack of
Rodri’s presence for City also gave Arsenal a huge hope for the win.
All in all,
Arsenal started the match with a bang and ended it with one. That being said, they’re
2nd on the table at the moment, right behind their annoying
neighbours, Tottenham Hotspur…
SPURS
VS FULHAM
I’ll keep this
one short, because it wasn’t much of a big match, but the current result of
said match is important.
Fulham were
Spurs’ guests and got spanked good. A fancy 2-0 win for the Northern Londoners,
3 points in the bag and 1st place in the League.
Son Heung-Min in
the 36th minute for 1-0 and James Maddison in the 54th
minute for 2-0.
Why is this
match important? Or Spurs for that matter?
Well currently,
they’re on top of the table. Their football is pretty good, aggressive even.
Defence is also strong, and their midfield game is pretty much okay. With all
these points mentioned, they should be 3rd or 4th, but
nope: FUCKING 1st!!! Above Arsenal, above Manchester City. The
Premier League is fucking wild at times.
Also their game
against Liverpool was total bollocks. They deserved to lose…

WEST
HAM VS EVERTON
“Forever blowing
bubbles”? More like “Forever blowing up chances to win”.
West Ham got
their asses handed to them by Everton, who last season were on the verge of
getting relegated to the EFL Championship. They got lucky in the last match day
that secured them safety in the Prem.
Currently
they’re 15th on the table, and “The Irons” are 9th. And
also West Ham won a European trophy last season. Like what the actual fuck?
Anyways, the
only goal scored in the game was by Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 51st
minute, with an assist from Jack Harrison.
Seriously, how
the hell did West Ham blow it like that?
STANDINGS
October could’ve
been worse. 8th on the table, doing poorly in the Champions League…
United are a waste. Meanwhile, other clubs are trying to make moves and push us
down further into the bottom half of the league, but somehow, we prevail and
exist in the top 10.
Also this is not
part of the Premier League, but a big congratulations to Lionel Messi on
winning his 8th Ballon D’Or. It’s safe to say that he has completed
football and can now enjoy life and do whatever he wants. He’s earned it. I
still haven’t forgiven him for what he did to us in 2009 and 2011.
Now it's time for our third adventure...
