PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHWEEK 5 REPORT

A certain match ruined the mood for a short intro

Nothing interesting happened to start an intro, so I'll just go ahead and write for the first game...

Burnley vs Arsenal FC

Arsenal are winning now? WTF?!?!?!?

Arsenal have been doing well these last 2 matches. But that's not saying much, since their form on the pitch is still questionable. A win is a nice thing, but an underwhelming win, like the one against Norwich and this one, is not a good thing. You need to have fought tooth and nails with the other team to walk off with a 1-0 win.
But to cut Arsenal some slack, they did play well. Odegaard scored a wonderful goal in the first half, more accurately in the 30th minute. I guess his free kick training sessions have paid off in the end. As for the rest of the game, they didn't do much.
Burnley however, were extremely unlucky. Deciding to hit back at "The Gunners" in the second half, they did their best in order to keep their opponents under pressure, with the hopes of scoring a goal. But this did not come to fruition...

An okay game overall, giving Arsenal some breathing room and positive energy that was much needed.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Thrashing your opponents with style...

I don't think I need to give a long speech about Liverpool and their winning ways. They have been like this for a while, and that winning mentality isn't stopping anytime soon.
Mane, Salah and Keita (MSK for short) showed Crystal Palace who's the boss in this one sided game that ended 3-0 for the home side. Mane in the 43rd minute, to ensure Liverpool end the half with a win, just so that later on Salah in the 78th with an assist from van Dijk, and Naby Keita in the 89th minute boosted Liverpool's lead by 2 goals.
And to make things even better for the Liverpool fans, Sadio Mane scored his 100th LFC goal. Funny how the guy who ruined Liverpool a couple of years ago, is now one of their key players...

100th goal for the Senegal star, and a comfortable 3-0 win. Also damn Salah! Dem muscles.

Manchester City vs Southampton

Just play this when you decide to re-watch the match or look at the highlights.
Ok fine, I'll add a brief report. Plenty of chances, but in the end, it was a fuck all game.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Leicester City

Now this is quite interesting...

Strange that I post about a game that was not played by the top tier clubs in the "Prem". But to be quite honest, this game ended up being something very interesting, especially with how the standings are right now.
Brighton and Hove Albion have been doing pretty well so far. But don't let that fool you. It's still early on in the season, and things may end up changing. But for now, Brighton are doing good. Really good in fact. Beating the 2016 champions 2-1 with somewhat relative ease. First goal scored in the 35th minute through a penalty, and then in the 50th, scored by... DANNY WELBECK?!?!? Damn.
Despite a goal by Jamie Vardy in the 61st minute, it wasn't enough for "The Foxes" to end up taking the L and drop points, and positions. Meanwhile, Brighton took home the W and climbed into the top 4, where the big boys are...
A solid game overall. Brighton are doing good for themselves. But will this good luck streak last?

West Ham United vs Manchester United

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN YOU PLEASE WIN A GAME WITHOUT WORRYING YOUR FANS TO DEATH!!!

I swear to God, this club is going to give me a hear attack.
A goal in the 30th minute put West Ham in the lead, and a lot of United fans on the verge of going postal. Thankfully, all the bad thoughts were thrown out and replaced with hope and anxiety when Big Ron came in and scored 5 mins later, after many attempts from the Portuguese star.
Then the 2nd half came and there were chances here and there, both sides. But then the absolute legend, the almighty hero of football, that costed us our first Champions League game, scored a WONDERFUL STRIKE that made every United fan, jump out of their seat and scream in joy.
And then a penalty for West Ham happened. And the game could've been lost, had it not been for the hands of "Saint" David De Gea, who guessed right when Mark Noble came on as a substitution for Jarrod Bowen in the LITERAL dying moments of the game and took the penalty and missed it. Now we're enjoying the 3rd spot, despite having the same points as the other 2 teams that are above us...

De Gea MOTM!!! United in 3rd! Things are "good" for us.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

Jimmy Greaves' first club has beaten the club he has played the most...

To wrap things up with my report, we have Spurs and Chelsea to tell us a story about how Tottenham are a top tier club and things like that.
And what better way to tell a story than the one of thrashing Spurs 3-0 in their own back yard. Silva, Kante and Rudiger, combined together, decided to terrorize their opponents and forced them to "retreat" and probably retire from the game as soon as the 2nd half started. Silva opened the 2nd half with his goal in the 49th minute, and Rudiger finished it off in the stoppage time.
All 3 players were assisted as well too, making the 3 goals even more delightful to re-watch...

Their 3 goals pelvic thrusted "The Blues" onto the top, rivaled only by Liverpool (and soon us, I hope)

Table and Standings

Arsenal move 3 spots, Brighton end up in the top 5, and Norwich are chilling at the bottom.

Despite not having an intro, I do have an outro. As this week was somewhat sad. That's because the England legend Jimmy Greaves passed away on 19-09-2021, in his home in Danbury.
Jimmy was born on 20-02-1940, and has played for vast clubs across Europe, but his most notable marks in his career are those of his days spent in Chelsea FC (1957-1961) and Tottenham Hotspur (1961 - 1970).
A goalscorer known for his good positioning, pace and opportunism, he scored a total of 382 goals in his 579 appearances in total. A minute of silence was held on Sunday before the matches were started.
Jimmy Greaves, October 28th 1959

Until next time
Lord Slayer...
