Well, well, well. This season's start is nothing short of awesomeness. But before I start the report, the EFL Cup took this week, where the teams that are from the lower divisions, and those from the "Prem" that finished anywhere but the top 5, played and we had our ups and downs. More importantly, Arsenal FC won a game! Against West Bromwich Albion, who, sadly conceded 6 goals from "The Gunners". Could this mean that the bad luck Arsenal FC has had since the start of the season be gone? Could this mean that they have finally started to find their old winning spirit that would take them very far in this seaso-
Manchester City vs Arsenal
Honestly, I can't be bothered anymore with this
Arsenal FC have managed to bottle it yet again! This time, against "The Citizens", and in their turf, too! It could've been worse, had the match was played on the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta is basically gonna get "fired" from the cannon itself. HOW COULD THIS MAN RUN THIS CLUB??? I'll tell you how: This man here, Mikel Arteta, has signed a contract with BBC for a new tv comedy show. And that show is Arsenal FC. The premise? Getting demolished by everyone.
Honestly speaking, the whole squad was on its knees after Ferron Torres' goal in the 12th minute. That marked the game as finished and City winning the 3 points. To make matters worse, Granit Xhaka got sent off after a horrific challenge in the 35th minute. Arsenal were a man down. He ran out of stamina, thus, being unable to endure the slaughtering.
City, as the usual, were the dominant force of the game. From start to finish, nothing but attack, attack and attack! The match for them was basically a practice game before the start of the UEFA Champions League, which will happen in 3 weeks time.
All in all, a deserved win for "The Citizens", and a humiliating loss for "The Gunners", and a bunch of satisfied fans that witnessed this match.
I just can't be bothered to say anything about this team at this point. The highlights say it all.
Liverpool vs Chelsea
An epic match between two strong sides
This game was a tough one. Both sides were unable to best one another, and the game was finished with both teams sharing the point. Klopp's Liverpool was on the losing trail in the 22nd minute, after Kai Havertz scored a lovely header to give "The Blues" the lead. Fortunately, Mohamed "Mo" Salah managed to equalize through a penalty, right as the 1st half came to an end. Afterwards, both Liverpool and Chelsea had their moments, but none could break the tie. For some, this was a good result, but for the "Reds" from Merseyside and the "Blues" from London, it was not. Hopefully, their next games may bring back the lost points, or lose them, or one side could reclaim them, whereas the other one might not. Who knows.
Nothing was able to separate these two teams in the end. Brilliant goal from Havertz though.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester United
We're fucked at this point. Not even Ronnie can help this club...
Elsewhere, Wolverhampton were unlucky in winning the game against Manchester United. Despite their hard work, better possession, and overall, better BLOODY game, they lost the game thanks to a late goal from Mason Greenwood in the 80th minute. Up until that point, the game was favoring "The Wolves". Brilliant attacking, outstanding passing, set pieces that were out of this world. As if the roles were inverted and instead of United doing that, it was Wolverhampton making sure we were fooled around like little children.
BUT, "Saint" David De Gea said ¡NO! to his opponents, and managed to pull off 2 outstanding saves in the 66th minute, denying any hope and chance for Wolves to win. And this was basically, in my opinion, the turning point of the game.
United used this in their favor to attack (why weren't they doing that since the start, the bloody red bastards!!!) and put the pressure on Wolves. And finally, the young Greenwood scored the only goal of the game, giving United the win and the 3 points, and boosting them to 3rd place, begin West Ham and Spurs.
Ronnie, just retire at this point lad. We're shite, despite the win.
STANDINGS
I stand corrected! This is my FIFA 08 Manager Mode save happening in real life. Arsenal are basically destined to end up in The Championship.
I'd end things here, but actually, something huge happened this week. And I mean, HUGELY HUGE! As it is still the transfer season, players still get to move left and right up until August 31st. This window period, we were all shocked when the Argentinian beast, a.k.a. Lionel Messi, moved from Barcelona to PSG, for free, because Barcelona basically have fucked themselves over. And we all thought that was it, but NOPE!
Fast forward to this week, Manchester United and Juventus dropped the bomb. And that was... CR7 BACK AT OLD TRAFFORD!!!! Yep, Ronnie came back to the place where he became a monster. How did this all happen? We have to thank Manchester City for this, as their failed attempt to get Spurs star, Harry Kane, they shifted focus on Cristiano. Many, including myself, saw this as both scary and sad, since Ronaldo might pull off a Carlos Tevez on us and play for the rivals. Additional note: while I was upset, I wasn't FULLY upset, since I accepted him leaving us 12 or so years ago.
And then, something happened. Something not even God Himself could know. And you all know what I mean.
Manchester United (or in this case, Sir Alex Ferguson, probably doing his magic) just cock blocked City and got the Portuguese monster for themselves. And for a good price, too! £19 million pounds. And while he didn't start for the Wolves game, he might be ready for Matchweek 4, which will happen in 2 weeks, since this week, it's going to be the "Nationals Week". Expecting mediocre news from this to be fair.
Fans are over the moon with this one. Everyone agrees: Best thing to happen since Fergie left.
This will wrap up Matchweek 3 folks! Mediocre madness is what I'd call it, since the only good things were the annihilation of Arsenal FC, and the whole "Cristiano Ronaldo transfer" episode. As mentioned before, next week will be "Nationals Week", meaning I won't be posting anything football related for a while. A deserved break to be sure. Mightconclude a story or something in the mean time.
I would like to start by apologizing for writing this report a bit late. I got caught up with an exam and spent the time focusing on that. The good news is that I passed it. Second reason is that I was waiting for the matchweek to end before tackling the report. And now that it is over, it's time to quickly sum up what happened...
Manchester City vs Norwich
City are at it again
Manchester City has returned to form with their 5-0 win against Norwich. The game opened with an own goal, scored by the Norwich keeper, Tim Kurl. Afterwards, the newly signed Jack Grealish scored his debut goal, making happy both himself and City fans alike. As for the rest of the game, there's nothing much to write home about. It was City demolishing their opponents like they were training for a Champions league match.
A spectacular start for Jack's City career.
Liverpool vs Burnley
69th minute? Nice.
"The Scousers" continue their start of the season with another win, but not by much this time around. Their match against Burnley was a fair one, but a far cry from their win against Norwich, whom they beat 3-0. And now said defeated opponents conceded two additional goals. Maybe next game they will allow for 2 more?
But anyhow, Liverpool brought themselves and the fans the 3 points, thanks to the goals from Jota and Sadio. And I have to mention it again: 69th minute. Nice one, even though I hate you with a burning passion, a win is a win.
Liverpool's win in front of their returning fans. A nice gift to be quite honest.
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Arsenal FC is now my favorite comedy show on TV right now
WHEN WILL THESE BOYS LEARN HOW TO WIN?!?!? A second tragic defeat for Mikel Arteta's side, only this time, it was on their home ground. Are they trying to get themselves relegated? Or are they trying to fool everyone by thinking they have become weak, only for then to strike when least expected? Conspiracy theory, this might be. But still, 2 in a row for "The Gunners".
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea are doing pretty well for themselves. They have won their opening game, and have painted London in blue, with two goals from James and their "new" player, Romelu Lukaku, who he seems to be interested in demolishing some teams this season. A player to watch out for.
The Belgium striker came back with a bang. What was "The Special One" thinking when he sold him all those years ago?
Southampton vs Manchester United
We're moving a bit mad now, aren't we?
Unfortunately, things cannot be said about my beloved United, as they have failed to earn 3 points from their game against Southampton. Were there chances? YES! Were there goals? YES!! Were there doubts for ending the game with a win? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Ole was unable to provide the players and the fans with a wonderful Sunday, as we managed to score 2 goals this time around, instead of 5. Yes! You read that right. 2 goals. One for Southampton and one for us. Manchester must have felt a bit generous and decided to help "The Saints" find the net.
After all, this is the team that we thrashed 9-0 last season. Hell, the highlights for that game were uploaded on sites such as PornHub, RedTube, and many others; but those sites removed non-verified videos, so all of them are gone now. It's sad I know.
A really disappointing game from "The Red Devils". I hope we can get ourselves a big W next game.
West Ham United vs Leicester City
Oh my! The 2016 champions got wrecked HARD!!!
This game was a good one. REALLY good. "The Hammers" vs "The Fox". And it ended up with the hammers beating up the poor lil' ol' fox. Poor Leicester. They just couldn't escape from the banging that was delivered by Moyes' West Ham. It got even worse when they conceded a goal in the 69th minute from Leicester's Tielemans. I'd say nice cause of 69, but, what happened after was NOT nice. Michail Antonio scored 2 goals in the span of 4 minutes. 80th and 84th minute to be exact. With that in mind, they doubled their lead and sky rocketed themselves to 1st place on the table, and left Leicester down in the 12th position.
Ouch! "The Foxes" will need to work hard to get back on the track. Congrats to West Ham by the way. A well earned win.
STANDINGS
Arsenal at the bottom reminds me of the time when they actually got relegated during my time with FIFA 08's "Manager Mode".
That would wrap up matchweek 2. Biggest shockers were Arsenal, City and West Ham. The former with their 2nd loss of the season, and City and West Ham with their big wins and well earned 3 points, AND West Ham boosting themselves to the top of the table. And the good news is that next matchweek will be reported by the end of this week, since it will take place on Saturday and Sunday. No Monday this time around. And thank God! Because it will be a busy week for me with various exams and what not. Do I look forward to it? NO! Will it be easy? NO!! Will Arsenal get their arse kicked and United win a game? ABSOLUTELY YES!!!
It's the beginning of the new day. The sun has awakened from its slumber and with its yawn, it awakes the bright side of nature itself. The sunflowers turn their heads to gaze upon the beautiful body of the sun, the bees happily prepare their wings to take off for work, and the birds fly off to search for food for their little ones. The wind is also present, too! Not strong, but gives the animals a nice refresher before their long day starts.
Among these creatures, a tiny spiked fluff comes out from under the bushes. Tiny for us maybe, but not much for herself. Mamma Hedge, like many others, has awakened and is preparing to continue her journey with her little ones. Having taken a bush as their resting place for the night, now they are on their way to walk around and explore the world. But first, breakfast. You can't go on a journey on an empty tummy.
Mamma takes a moment to cover her surroundings. Observing for predators before moving forward. However, she should've observed her little ones instead.
Like many infants, these were no different. 4 little baby hedgehogs being mischievous is, as a matter of fact, adorable. Seeing their little bodies moving around whilst playing with one another, running around at the speed of sound when playing tag is a sight to behold. And while that may seem adorable to us, Mamma Hedge doesn't like that. Knowing the dangers of nature, she quickly retreats to her station to discipline her little soldiers. After a brief struggle, she puts them in their place and sets off to go on a hunt, while they wait patiently for her to return. Or do they?
Upon leaving her HQ, she is quickly challenged by a tiny obstacle: a fallen branch. This one must have fallen during a storm that happened not too long ago. Fortunately, this is nothing for her, as she easily overcomes this with ease. Before proceeding further, she turns back to check if everything is alright. And it seems so. The little ones are back watching their mamma, cheering for her.
With a slight sight of relief, she pushes forwards.
A couple of minutes later, after a brief peacefulness, she is yet again challenged by an obstacle, but this is not a plant nor a fallen branch. It's a cat.
Locking eyes directly with the beast, she slowly and carefully backs off, while her predator is slowly walking towards her. As if she knew backing off isn't an option, she quickly turns 180 and makes a run for it. The cat wastes no time and starts the chase. The hot pursuit is on. Mamma Hedge, whilst running away, is technically just running backwards, from the way she came, meaning that if she were to outrun her pursuer, she will eventually return to her original path, thus leading to her knowing her way back to her little ones. But, Justice Tom isn't giving up on her just yet, and decides to use a strategical move to slow down its prey. Taking a huge leap to jump over her, and use his body as a roadblock, he manages to change her traction and force her to take a turn. Smart kitty. In fact, the kitty is so smart, that he forced her into a corner with that move. Now trapped, Mamma Edge, who has nowhere to run, is now facing death itself. Remembering that her kids saw where she was headed, and that the path hasn't been destroyed by the chase, she eventually decides to go head to head and fight the cat. Dying was not an option. Justice Tom slowly approaches her and notices her fierce aura, ready to attack him. But, a plot twist: he was just curious about the animal. He sniffed her quickly and seeing that she's not a threat, left her alone and went on his way. Mamma was confused. She thought she was going to become a meal for the cat, but instead, she was just being tagged. And now she was it.
Few minutes have gone past and she follows the trail and continues back on her path. Or does she? Sadly, this time around, it's even more serious than before. She is lost. She cannot find her way back, despite making a clearance earlier, now she's lost. Supposedly, the cause of this must be her shock, which is still present after that chase. She starts wandering around and around, until eventually, she finds tiny footsteps. Not just any tiny footsteps, but a baby hedgehog footsteps. Excited, she starts following the trail. She is closing in on the trails. Her curiosity, worry, joy, excitement and fear for her kids grew evermore. And at the end of the journey, she finds out the answer... And that answer was: her kids eating their food.
Yep. Whilst she was fighting Tom, her kids in the background followed the pathway and found the nest of insects that she was going to bring to them. Remember how she focuses too much on her surroundings and not her kids? Well, this was yet another result of such things. That's what happens when you're inexperienced, but still a good parent.
Happy knowing that her kids are safe and sound, she quickly sniffs them to ensure they are 100% okay. Once that is done, she finds what's left of the insects and consumes them.
Now, the family is all fed and too tired to move on. A quick nap should do the trick before moving on with their journey to the west, or to the north, or somewhere else. It is a big world you know?
Now that the Euros and friendlies are over, it's time to shift the focus on the more important aspect of football. The domestic leagues, cups, and most importantly, the UEFA Champions League. Originally, I was going to post only about my beloved Manchester United F.C., but after some thinking, I decided to write my reports based on an entire Matchweek. It will mostly cover the top clubs and their performance and some exceptional matches. Same will apply for the Champions League. With that said, it's time to review the opening game of the new season between Arsenal and Brentford:
Are you kidding me?
ARE YOU ACTUALLY TAKING THE PISS?!?!? Arsenal have been dominated by the newly promoted Championship side Brentford, with a humiliating 2-0 defeat on the opening day of the season. Are you mental?
Worst part is, Arsenal FC were LITERALLY dominated. As if their opponents were a team of 11 dominatrix dominating the "Gunners" from start to finish. No game plan, no creativity whatsoever, and the lack of actual focus for the game definitely gave Arsenal their first defeat of the season (AND IT WAS IN THE OPENING DAY MIND YOU!!!)
Best part of the match is, however, the win that the newcomers have achieved this Friday Night. With a good strategy, good teamwork, and good defense, "The Bees" have conquered North London and returned back to base with some sweet and delicious 3 honey points. Sergi Canós and Christian Nørgaard are the heroes for the club right now.
Mikel Arteta stood no chance against the newcomers to be FRANK.
Even their highlights title cannot hold their joy. Rightfully deserved!
But now it is time for the real main event. Saturday. Where a plethora of fixtures played out, each bringing raw emotions between fans. Joy, sadness, anger, confusion, annoyance, homicide, slaughter, destruction. Wait... Why did I even mention the last 3 though? I ain't playing Doom right now?
Oh. This is why.
YEP! This is not a joke! Manchester United have killed Leeds United. What was supposed to be a humble and a good "Roses rivalry", it ended up in a bloodbath that people in Old Trafford started floating. Poor people came here for a football match, and came back home covered in shock, disbelief and joy. After a relatively weak 1st half by United, They pulled no punches in the 2nd half and crushed their opposition.
Bruno Fernandes scored a hat trick, giving him the opportunity to take the match ball home and enjoy some nice and relaxing time with his spouse... By scoring goals against her instead of scoring with her. The young Mason Greenwood wrote his name in the scoreboard, alongside his mate Fred. And a shoutout to Pogba for being the good support that he is. 4 assists in 1 game is madness.
Oh and Luke Ayling scored a screamer. Shame the 5 goals overshadowed that lovely strike of his.
Big man Bruno is at it again. That Luke goal though!
I could mention Liverpool's win against Norwich, but it wasn't anything interesting to mention, except the fact that Salah has scored on the opening day for 5 straight consecutive years now, so that's a bonus. And they won 3-0. I'll give them props for the record and win however.
This motherfucker... I swear. Congratulations nonetheless on his achievement.
Lastly, to wrap up the week, we have Tottenham vs Manchester City. A match that in no shape or form is gonna end up in a disappointment--
The end is near...
SPURS HAVE BEATEN THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S CHAMPIONS!!!
Okay I may have over exaggerated that statement. My bad.
But it's still surprising that City lost its opening game against Spurs. From what was a bare bones game overall, Spurs managed to get a win with a goal from Son in the 55th minute with an assist from Steven Bergwjn. Talk about a way to end the Matchweek.
Quite the shambolic match, I must say. Regardless, a win is a win.
The current standing of the League.
That will wrap up Week 1 of the 2021/22 season. It just started, but with games such as the one with BREvsARS and MUNvsLEE, I have a feeling the season may be a wacky one.
As for United, just because we won, it doesn't mean we get to celebrate early. We have a long journey ahead of us. FA Cup, EFL Cup, Champions League (and I pray I don't have to start writing about the Europa League), it will be a season to show everyone that United has returned and that they are tired of being mocked by everyone. #GGMU
After the release of Yakuza 0, the game became a huge hit. Praised by both fans and critics alike for its gameplay and story, everyone was anticipating the next release in this long running franchise. And a year later, they got the answer. In 2016, Yakuza Kiwami was released on both the Xbox and Playstation consoles, and in 2019, a pc port was released. Utilizing the same game engine that was used for Yakuza 0, the differences are slight on the surface, but very noticeable during gameplay. And because of this, there was a slight split between the fanbase. Some very happy with the release of the game, some annoyed because it used the same engine and that important issues with 0's gameplay and story handling wasn't changed at all. Especially since Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the original Yakuza 1, which was released back in 2005. The original plan for the Ryu ga Gotoku Studio was to release the game in 2015, to commemorate 10 years of the franchise, but the project was pushed for the next year, seeing how 0 was in development. And after its release and praise, the studio went on to make Kiwami the following year. And did they deliver?
PLOT
1995 - Kazuma Kiryu, the legendary Dragon of Dojima, is arrested for the murder of the family's patriarch, Sohei Dojima. In an attempt to protect his sworn brother and childhood friend, he did the unthinkable. Killing another person, something he has never done before and had no intentions to do at all. The question is now set: Was it all worth it? Or is he even guilty of committing the murder at all?
1995.10.1 - The day Kazuma Kiryu's life turned upside down
2005- 10 years since the incident have passed and life has changed. neither for the better nor for the worse. Kiryu Kazuma, now a free man, returns to Kamurocho only to find that the district that he once knew has changed. This is no longer the 80s or the 90s. It's the 2000s. Mid 2000s as well. Oh, and speaking of Kiryu, despite now being in his 30s, dude looks like he's in his mid 20s. Does he even get old? On top of this issue, 10 billion yen have gone missing, the Tojo Clan is on the verge of a war, and your sworn brother has turned a new leaf and is on the rise of causing chaos. BUT, worry not. We still have time for karaoke. And to deliver a final blow to this fate changing story of the Dragon of Dojima, a little girl is also involved with the "10 billion yen" incident: Haruka Sawamura. The two of them are now headed towards a path that will be full of hardships, loss and sadness; but for the price of embracing fate itself and becoming a part of something bigger than the life of the yakuza. The year is 2005. Shit has hit the fan. Will you be able to take it to the extreme and put an end to this massive problem once and for all?
2005.12.5 - Kiryu has never killed a man. HONESTLY!!!
GAMEPLAY
Just like Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami retains its former's gameplay elements in nearly every aspect. From the player movement, to the fighting, to the everything, it's identical to 0. The previously mentioned fighting styles also return, with a slight change: You no longer have to pause and go to the menu to switch to the legendary style. It is now placed alongside the other styles, and can be selected using the D=Pad. Good thing about this change is that equipped weapons can be selected by just pressing the same button for the current chosen style. Another slight change is that the fighting styles no longer have their individual themes that were found in 0. That doesn't mean they still don't beat you to death however. Disco, unfortunately, is absent. No longer will you be busting some moves and killing the dance floor like how you did back in 1988. The only new addition to Kiwami is a new special Heat move called... Climax Heat. The Climax Heat move (that in the end ends with the kanji 極 (Kiwami)、Extreme) is a special move that can be used on bosses only. During a boss fight, the boss will stop for a brief moment and start generating health. During this period, he can be attacked, but his health will rise regardless. To prevent this from happening, an aura will emit from the boss' body. The aura can be divided in 4 colors: Blue, Yellow, Purple and Red. This is a hint as to how to stop the regenerating moment, by selecting said fighting style, get close to the boss, press the heat button, and watch the boss getting bodied by Kiryu. With that being said, most boss battles will require the player to use the basic 3 fighting stances, and the 4th one reserved for the toughest of toughest and... Majima.
All Heat actions + all 4 Heat Climax actions
MAJIMA EVERYWHERE
Kiryu-chan!!! 😍
Yup, the new gameplay element introduced in this game is the "Majima Everywhere" system (どこでも真島, "doko demo Majima"). This part of the game is centered around Kiryu's fourth fighting style, the Dragon of Dojima. Reason being is that during his 10 years in prison, Kiryu has lost his ability to use that style. Completely has no idea how to use it, but he can use his previous ones with no issues. No idea why, but just roll with it. And since the Dragon of Dojima style is what made Kiryu a legend, Majima is determined to help our hero from start to finish. To regain his once lost skill and surpass it in the end. And the plan to do that is quite simple: STALK... KIRYU-CHAN... ALL THE TIME!!! From huge traffic cones, to trash cans, to being a cop, to being a zombie, to becoming a hostess... To literally no ends, this guy will follow you around Kamurocho and will demand you to fight him. And while you can run away from it, you can't escape it. He will find you, he will rush you down, and he will scream: KIRYU-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!! 💗😍💘 Oh, and the part about the red aura, yeah. Near the end, you'll be switching to the Dragon of Dojima style all the time to end this Mad Dog's career, only then to reappear again after the fight just ended and challenge you again. Luckily, his own Mad Dog of Shimano style is not always used. His previous styles: Thug, Slugger and Break are also utilized by this crazed handsome bastard. But that won't matter in the end, because all you'll remember from this is Kiryu-chan!
HE
IS
LITERALLY
EVERYWHERE!!! (Also Goromi best girl)
CONCLUSION
Like the previous game, Yakuza Kiwami doesn't offer much in terms of changes. Mainly due to how the gameplay formula from 0 is perfect that it just needed 1 single new feature to make things somewhat easier when dealing with huge threats. Soundtrack is memorable and funky, the story is dark and quite the opposite of 0. The grinding system, while tedious, is fun and rewarding. The game overall is very good, but it can get tiresome after the halfway point. But, fear not, for that Majima CAN and WILL appear from a random corner to surprise you with a fight and brighten up the mood.

- When facing Majima, for some reason, his styles are named like Kiryu's, instead of his own ones.
- Lore wise, this is the game where the most broken move in the franchise is learned: The Komaki Tiger Drop.
- Snow and rain are introduced for the first and last time on this game's engine.
- To this date, Yakuza Kiwami has one of the hardest boss fights. That being the second to last boss fight against Kyohei Jingu.

*Side note: Due to me still playing the game by the time of writing this, the review for said game will appear another time. Until then, take care and check your house before going to sleep. Majima may be lurking and wanting to fight you.
The deep hatred, Part of me since the beginning, Has always been my saving throw.
Good, Evil, All of them equally bad.
Abusing their powers To harm others And bring nothing but despair.
Become one with them, I was about to. Bad just like them, Perhaps even worse.
