February was certainly a month. And I’m
not talking about spending time with your precious one, or anything happening
in the world. No, I’m talking about the Premier League. It was certainly the
month of the year. I don’t know whether I should feel like something great
happened, or everything went down the shitter. The following matches from the
month might shed some light about why I feel this month was just… There.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs. BRIGHTON
See what I mean? What the fuck just
happened in this game?
Brighton, who until then had a great run
in the league, putting up a good fight with every team and winning games left
and right, just got humbled by
Nottingham Forest in the most humiliating way possible: A 7 goal beat-down.
Lewis Dunk dunked one into his own net
in the 12th minute to open the game in Nottingham’s favour. Then
Gibbs-White with the help from Elanga made it 2-0 in the 25th
minute. AND THEN CHRIS MOTHERFUCKING WOOD scored a well-deserved
hat-trick, two with an assist and one from the spot. This man is Forest’s best
player, and maybe the best player of the season thus far. The man deserves a
spot in the Season’s Best XI, once the season ends.
Oh and Neco Williams and Jota Silva
scored two more goals for shits and giggles to make the score 7-0.
I
honestly have nothing to say for Brighton because they showed the fans nothing.
Regardless of this strange outcome, both
teams are in good placements on the table, and they’re not that far off,
points-wise. But this game was a shocker… BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE NEXT ONE!!!
Who had Man City getting peppered by
Arsenal (of all teams) on their 2025 bingo card?
Just like the previous game, I have
nothing to say about City. They conceded within 2 minutes after the start of
the game. Sure, they equalised in the 55th, but Arsenal quickly
responded within a couple of seconds later, with Thomas Partey being the man
that smacked back City’s huge ego and making sure the game is exciting.
From the 60th minute, all the
way into the final moments of the game, it was a one-sided game. Arsenal were
firing on all cylinders and didn’t know how to stop! BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T KNOW
HOW TO! They kept on attacking, attacking, ATTACKING & scoring, Scoring
& SCORING!!!
They
were winning the game so hard, they got tired of winning and allowed Newcastle
to beat them 2-0 the next game, lmao…
This derby was an emotional one,
especially for Everton fans, as this was the last time they played on Goodison
Park against their red Scouse counterpart, as from the next season, they’ll be
playing on a new stadium.
Before the game, Everton had regained
their form and was back on winning ways and managed to avoid the relegation
battle… Somewhat. Liverpool are winning it this year, so no need to elaborate
on them.
The match went underway with a lot of
tension between the teams and their fans. Emotions arose when Everton’s Beto
scored in the 11th minute, making a huge impact on the game. 5
minutes later, however, Mac Allister would deny “The Caramels” their joy. This was
followed up with Salah’s goal in the 73rd minute, which made the
hopes of winning or drawing on Goodison Park for the last time very much dead.
And
then James Tarkowski just made the entire stadium erupt in joy and happiness…
They didn’t win, but they didn’t lose,
either. They left their old ground on a very memorable and high note against a
side that they can’t stand. They pretty much ruined Liverpool’s night. And to
that I say: Well done, lads! Well done!
A
new era is upon you. Make the most of it…
I’ll keep this one short.
Imagine losing to CRYSTAL
PALACE!!!! That’s comedy gold, Villa! Pure comedy gold!
STANDINGS
As you saw, I sounded excited during the
moment, but in reality, I was left with a lot of questions, with one of those
being: WHAT JUST HAPPENED WITH THE TITLE RACE THIS SEASON???
Like… Liverpool are winning it, yeah (and that shit hurts… A LOT), but there’s no excitement to it. This isn’t the same as seeing City winning it because they’re the best or the greatest, but because Liverpool are a club with a soul, as much as I hate to admit it, they have a soul. Arsenal had a shot at the title (I refuse to say City were in the title race), but like… THEY FUMBLED!!! AND HAVING NOTTINGHAM, BRIGHTON, NEWCASTLE, BOURNEMOUTH IN A RACE FOR THE TOP 4 IS WEIRD ENOUGH AS IT IS!!!
I don’t know. This month was just weird
altogether. Maybe March will be more sane and understandable than February…
Until Next Time
