PREMIER LEAGUE 2024/2025 JANUARY REPORT

First and foremost, Happy New Year, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

January as a month represents the beginning of something fresh, exciting! And opportunities to be grabbed start to rise from the frozen ground. Or celebrate Christmas AND SLAVA with family and friends and gain a fuck ton of weight. But all of this is justified, as it’s okay to cheat on your body with good food, cheerful music, drinks and a company of people that are near and dear to us.

Does the same apply to the Premier League? Probably. I’m not talking about gatherings to celebrate or the holidays themselves, but about the atmosphere. Was it enjoyable and fun for everyone? Well, Arsenal opened the New Year with a 3-1 win over Brentford. So that should tell you all about it.

But regardless, we have more pressing matters to attend to. Join me, as we go along the report of the best games of the month

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2024-2025 LEAGUE PHASE SUMMARY REPORT

You may be wondering why I’m all of the sudden posting a report about the UEFA Champions League instead of the usual two weekly matchday report I used to do last year. The answer is pretty simple: THE LEAGUE!

And I’m not talking about the Premier League. I’m talking about the all brand new and super exciting format to give weaker teams a chance to advance and also that it was definitely not made to make more cash for the CEOs and higher ups, whilst screwing over the fans and teams for their own selfish and greedy needs & deeds, no sire!

Long story short, the brand new format scrapped the good old group system and replaced it with a League system. How this works is a bit bizarre if you ask me: 36 teams play from October to January (Tuesday & Wednesday nights, of course), and the first 8 teams automatically qualify for Round of 16, while the teams from 9th to 24th get to play in a knockout phase to earn a shot for it. 25th and below get to go home… Maybe by the end of the 2024/2025 campaign I’ll probably get a better understanding of this new format, because I’m not alone on this. Others also aren’t attracted to this new format, either due to its complexity, the idea of greed that made this happen, or both.

Because of this, I waited until January to finally make a bloody report on it. I could’ve done a matchday report like how I used to do with the ones with the Premier League, but the new format really took me by surprise. To make things a tad bit understandable, I’ll talk about the participants in 3 sections:

-        The Losers

-        The Undecided

-        The Winners

So uh… Let’s dive into it!

FLATOUT REVIEW

Developer: Bugbear Entertainment

Publisher: Empire Interactive

Series: FlatOut

Release date: November 2004

Platforms: Windows, PS2, Xbox

Genre: Racing

Mode: Single Player & Multiplayer

My love for racing video games knows no boundaries. If you look on my blog (once I manage to organise things out so you can reach the beginning of my writings, my fellow reader), I have written 2 pieces on racing games: Race Driver GRID & “30 Years of Necessity for Velocity”. One is a game review, and the other is a retrospective tribute for my absolute favourite racing game series of all time. The quantity may be small, but the quality sure isn’t.

Point is, when it comes to this genre of gaming, I will not stop talking about it until I am done, similarly to Tomb Raider and Street Fighter. FIFA, while also a fan of it, I have only few games in there that I truly like and go in full detail expressing my love for them. What was I talking about again?

Oh yeah! Racing video games. I love them, but GRID & NFS aren’t the only racing games I enjoy. You have the rally games (those made by Codemasters) such as Colin McRae’s Rally and DiRT, the F1 games (either made by EA & Codies), Trackmania, Sonic Racing All-Star Racing Transform, Art of Rally, and so much more!

But one series in particular has a special place in my heart. A series that I’ve played before GRID, alongside NFS, but would argue the games are on par, if not, better than NFS in some areas.

That’s right, my fellow reader… It’s time to go FLATOUT!!!
